Aboriginal Employment Initiative
The Aboriginal population is the fastest growing segment of Manitoba's population--by 2016, 1 in 4 workers will be Aboriginal (Stats Canada).
Knowing that there is a real labour shortage in Manitoba’s food industry, the MFPA has responded with Worker Recruitment Programs like the Aboriginal Employment Initiative. This initiative provides MFPA Members with workers at all levels.
What can the MFPA Aboriginal Employment Initiative do for you?
- Pre-screen prospective employees of all ages, education and skill levels.
- Organize small group tours of your plant.
- Wage / training subsidies may be available.
- Advertise position vacancies through an email distribution list that reaches individual job seekers, employment organizations and Aboriginal organizations.
- Bring your company information and application forms to Career & Job Fairs.
- Set-up Aboriginal Culture and Diversity Workshops for your staff.
